Don’t Forget the Sunscreen
Summer is here and that means it’s time to get out and play…but Don’t forget the sunscreen!
For kids 6 months and older a SPF of 30 or higher should be used to prevent sunburn and tanning. Select a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays.
To avoid skin allergies, don’t use sunscreen with PABA. For sensitive skin, use products with Titanium dioxide.
1. Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before going outside.
2. Don’t forget lips, hands, feet, ears, shoulders and behind the neck.
3. Apply under straps to cover area as straps shift.
4. Apply generously.
5. Reapply every 2 hours.
6. Use waterproof sunscreen when in or near water and reapply every 80 mins.
